Welcome! Meet My Family
Ok, y'all, I know this is long overdue...but I am finally getting at it! Time to start blogging my sessions so you all can see more of the love and joy and beautiful images than what I show in my little sneak peeks. I love that blogging sessions really allows y'all to see the story in the session rather than just individual images from the session. Thank you, everyone, for joining me on this journey as I share my love and passion for creating memories through images with all of you!
I felt that for my first blog post, it only made sense for me to post my absolutely favorite subjects...those who first inspired me to capture images so that I personally could hold on to them for a lifetime.
These four are everything. Hadley (far right) is almost five. She is kind and empathetic and so insightful for her age. Eila (middle) just turned three. She is our spirited, spunky, and passionate child. And this girl loves BIG. Bennett (far left) is ten months now, though he was just short of nine months when I took these photos. It's always so fun getting to see babies' personalities develop as they grow. Bennett is full of himself all the time. He is 100% boy and into everything...he definitely keeps me on my toes! And that amazing guy with his arms around all of them is Craig, the glue that holds our family together. He is the smartest and goofiest person I know, and he is an expert napper. It brings me so much joy to see the excitement in my kids' eyes as they run (and crawl) to Craig at lightning speed when he comes home from work. He helps me to keep things in perspective when I start to get overwhelmed, and I am so thankful to get to do life with him!
I love having other photographers do our family photos because it just take so much pressure off when I get to just be the client and enjoy session. However, I did not have any updated photos since before Bennett could sit unassisted, and my mom was really wanting some images to show to her new students at the start of the school year (she is a teacher, and her students were coming just a few days later), so I dug through drawers and closets to find clothes for this session. (I actually did a full instastory about planning outfits for family sessions...if you don't follow me on Instagram yet, make sure to do that here!)
I was so thankful for beautiful weather on the rare night that Craig's schedule allowed him to come out for photos with us, and we had so much fun making sweet family memories! The kids ran around, found leaves and rocks, climbed fences, gave hugs and kisses, rocked on my rocking horse prop, and just had a blast.
And of course I had to get some images of Daddy and his kiddos!
Here are just a few of the individual images I got of my children while we were there!
I really had so much fun doing the session with my own family. We accomplished what my goal is for every family session I do with my clients: create fun memories and lasting images to be cherished a lifetime!
